Sunday Scene Breakfast Clubs
Widow(er)hood poses a very personal challenge, for which most of us have had neither training or previous experience. We exist in a void between the old and familiar and the new and unknown. Inevitably, at some stage, we must begin to accept our losses and start carving new lives for ourselves.
Sunday, traditionally a family day, has been chosen because it’s the day of the week when loneliness and the loss of one’s partner may be most keenly felt, and the one most difficult to fill in a joyful and positive way.
With discussions, the sharing of uplifting experiences and information, pleasurable companionship and some fun over breakfast, we can aim to view widowhood positively as having been bestowed a gift of freedom to become all that we can be.
Who are the Sunday Scene Breakfast Clubs for?
They’re for those who are:
- Beginning to come to terms with their widow(er)hood.
- Ready to move on.
- Ready to meet others in a similar situation, for companionship and the opening up of new life opportunities.
What can you expect?
- Some respite from and focus for lonely Sundays.
- A warm welcome in very pleasant surroundings.
- Opportunities to regularly meet socially and make friends with newly widowed people, in a scene where there are no couples to inadvertently compound your sense of loss.
- Freedom to laugh!
